Chlorophyll — Looks Weird But…

Trust me, it’s good for you! Great for you in fact, and I’m going to give you a bunch of reasons why. But firstly, let me just give you a quick heads up as to what this inky green liquid actually is.

Chlorophyll is a natural superfood and it’s actually the green pigment in plants and helps them to absorb the suns’ energy and assists with their growth. What does it do for us and why should we drink what sounds like the blood of a plant?

Well, if you’re keen to give it a try, these are a few of the benefits — it can provide vital nutrition for you, it’s great for supporting detoxification by ridding the body of heavy metals and other toxins, it’s a high source of magnesium, it’s a fantastic internal body deodorant and cleanser, it has the ability to regulate the natural flora in the gut therefore aiding digestion and, being highly alkaline, it’s great for ridding acidity from the body. I also notice that my skin and eyes are clearer when I’ve had it over a few days and also I definitely feel more hydrated.

Once you get past the appearance of it, it’s not that hard to digest and, once diluted with water, has a slight peppermint taste. Two brands I recommend are Swisse and Eva K. Give it a go!

I tried it for the first time to day — straight. The taste made me feel a bit sickly so tomorrow I will try it diluted. I wonder if it will be as effective diluted.

By the way Megan, I have been following your career closely for some years now as well as the modelling careers of Pania Rose and Danielle Haye’s. I am very proud to see Polynesian/ Maori faces do so well particularly in modelling and acting. It is very encouraging for my 13 year old daughter — especially as we live in Perth as well.

Thanks for rejecting the stereotype gorgeous girl — ka kite.

Hi Sha,

Thanks so much for writing. Yes you need to read the instructions for the chlorophyll. Diluting is essential!
Give your daughter my love and say hi to Perth for me!

Hi Megan,

After taking the chlorophyll did you notice improvement health wise? I am always feeling sluggish and literally always get sick :( .…..is this more just a detoxification? Or does it aid overall health? What have you noticed?

Hi Emma,

Chlorophyll is great but I think there are various other things you need to do to achieve optimum health.
For example, eating as organically as possible, cutting out or back on alcohol, not smoking, exercising regularly and keeping stress levels down.
Chlorophyll is one of many things you can do to help cleanse and replenish your system but is not a cure for overall health.

I hope that helps,

Hi Megan,
Using the chlorophyl has made a difference inside my body, and I am not getting fatigued as bad. My complexion better too. I know it is not a cure for MS, nothing is, but it is good to take something that can make a difference to my day to day living with MS, albiet on good days :-)
I’m glad I came across your article on chlorophyl, you won’t know till you give a go.
All the best,

John B.

Hi Megan,

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! I too aim to live a natural and clean life and am a big fan of chlorophyll.

I’ve recently started traveling a lot with work and find that the only sources of food at airports tend to be laden with wheat and/or sugar and is heavily processed.

Do you have any tips on how you prepare yourself for hunger pangs when you’re travelling or any standard, easily accessible food that isn’t really unhealthy?

Thank you and all the best!

Hi Nicky,

I know what you mean with travel and finding it hard to find good, healthy food!
I try to take things with me even though it’s a bit of a chore to remember to do it all the time.
An assortment of nuts (cashews, brazil, almonds) are healthy and good for you, dates (which I love) are sweet and also an alkaline food,
great for counter– balancing acidity in the body and always take lots of water!

It’s just about being organised and prepared and set aside the time to shop for and pack the things you know you’ll enjoy eating rather than the food from the airport which isn’t really cutting it for you. Good on you for being so health-focused. It’s good to see!

Take care and safe travels!

Hi Janice,

Well, Chlorophyll isn’t really known for healing cold and flu symptoms, but as my blog entry suggests it’s more to support your system if you’re going through a detox and aid with cleansing and hydration of the body. I am doing a blog entry soon on these amazing little pills I have discovered that are great for warding off colds. Seeing as it’s getting chilly now, I thought it’d be timely!

Take care,

Hi Megan,

Many thanks for introducing me to Liquid Chlorophyll. I have been taking the Swisse Brand and feel that it is a great way to start the day. I was just wondering if you can also take it at night? I feel a bit ‘energised’ for lack of a better word, after drinking it and just wondered if it ok to drink it at night?

I think that you are such a natural beauty and your are obviously as beautiful on the inside too, to take the time to share your resources and tips with us all.

Thank you and all the best,

Sharon
