Meet the new Face (& Body) of Isola for 2011
After a lengthy casting process in Sydney at the end of last year, I finally found the first official face and body for Isola by Megan Gale in the fine form of Ilona Novacek.
Ilona has modelled extensively and worked across the globe in the US, UK and all throughout Europe, although we first met about 6 years ago when she was cast by David Jones to promote their Autumn — Winter 2005 collections.
Since then she has grown as an individual, developed as a model and is a complete professional who never complained once throughout the Isola shoot, despite the icy conditions!
Ilona embodies the exotic, sophisticated, chic image that I wanted to project throughout the 2011 collection.
Stay tuned for more posts about the shoot, behind the scenes images and most importantly, more Isola by Megan Gale news for 2011.
Come back again and visit soon!

Hi megan congrats on your new role as the face of loreal paris!! you are in very gracious company at loreal and are very worthy of that company might I add, i find you a very refreshing celebrity with a fabulous down to earth nature. i must say I do not get caught up in the whole celebrity thing especially the who’s dating who, but i must admit i was somewhat saddened when you and AL split, but that is ancient history and today is a new day and you have your career to celebrate. So congrats again and thank you for doing Australia proud!! xx

Beautiful.. wish your sizes went a tad higher =( but stunning
Megan says…
Hi Flick,
thanks for your comments. I do go up to a 16DD and as I’m a new label can’t over expand
on size range just yet until I get enough demand for it.
But I’m open to doing larger sizes (and cup sizes) in the future.

Hi Megan
I’m sitting here watching Project Runway and felt inspired to check out your website and leave a message for you. It’s the episode the designers are tasked with designing a dress for you… very enjoyable viewing — I had a giggle at the dress that didnt cover the models butt… just what you’d wear hey!.. tee hee (not!)… poor things, 8 hours isn’t long to come up with a dress but definitely a couple of train wrecks in there.. the comments about the “Helen Mirin” dress… bah ha ha… “Megan’s not hitting the big 6.0. just yet”… I giggled!.. but on the topic of birthdays — happy birthday for the 7th (mine is the 8th… turned 32, wasn’t half as scary as turning 30 — anyway… I love my Leo sisters!) I just wanted to congratulate you on your new label and tell you I think you’re doing a fabulous job. I’m not overly impressed by fame or by people just because they’re in the public eye or because of the way they look (I have a famous uncle who taught me young it’s not cool to treat people differently based purely on their fame) however what I am trying to express, although rather long windedly so please bare with me, is that I think what is so wonderful about you is your ability to come through the screen and into my lounge room and connect with me, your viewer, as if you are an old friend — good job! You are a wonderful tv personality, I enjoy watching you host and i’m looking forward to following other aspects of your career too. Best of luck with Isola — im sure your designs are going to be a raging success!! Xx

Just found your Isola range in DJ’s and love it, thank you for creating beautiful swimwear in larger cup sizes
Megan says…
Hi Danielle,
Yes it was my goal from the beginning to create some beautiful, sexy, stylish yet supportive swimwear styles for women with bigger bust sizes as there were so many frumpy, daggy styles out there.
It turns out that this idea has been extremely popular and the bigger busted gals are LOVING Isola!
Next season I am going up to an E Cup which will be even more well-received I’m sure!
Thanks for dropping by!

Suzie says…
Hi Megan, congratulations on your swimwear range, wish u all the best with it.. I’m just concerned about one thing, I know u love animals and that u wouldn’t tolerate animal cruelty, yet your the face of L’oreal and it’s listed in the top 5 brands that STILL test on animals and ugly cruel pics are floating around with poor rabbits etc being tested… Wats goin on there??? Is it true???
Megan says…
Hi Suzie,
Obviously the first question I asked L’Oreal Paris before signing was “Do you test on animals”? and they assured me that this hasn’t happened
in their labs since the late 80’s. I think the stigma has stayed around though.
What many people don’t realise is that L’Oreal Paris discovered and developed quite an amazing technology which allows them to create and grow human skin cells and tissue and this allows them to perform their testing on the tissue itself. This same technology has also been used in skin grafts for burns victims so it’s quite amazing.
Sadly I think as the animal testing was so opposed by people (and rightly so)but as they did participate many years ago, it’s a hard thing to convince people that they are opposed to it now.
Anyway, thanks for visiting the site and kind words re: Isola.
Much Love,

Hi Megan,
Earlier this year you among others supported the Go Red For Women with the Heart Foundation. Thank you isn’t enough for your support and time to raise awareness of this horrible disease. Ten years ago I was only 39 when I had my heart attack and mis diagnosed for 4 days. I was so so lucky and survived to now make a difference. I have been working as a volunteer with the Heart Foundation for the last 10 years raising awareness of women’s biggest killer heart disease and how can we prevent this. I have also ben involved in the Go Red For Women campaign from the beginning and to have some one as yourself dress in that beautiful dress and help to raise awareness, well life docent get better. From me Megan as a survived thank you thank you thank you.
Take care of you
Leonie
Megan says…
Hi Leonie,
Apologies for the delay in replying and thank you for writing to me.
Sorry to hear that you’ve been through such trying times and at such a young age too!
However it seems like you’re made of strong stuff and are devoting a lot of time and energy to the Heart Foundation
and making a difference. Good on you!
And it was my pleasure to be involved in such a worthwhile cause.
Much love to you,
Megan x

Hi Megan,
I am a model and I would love to say you are one of my idols! I met you at your event at Bacchus the other night and almost died, you are so stunning in person! I was late coming to the event as a shoot went late in Sydney and traffic was horrible so I was so stressed I would miss seeing you! You have such a fantastic presence and I really feel inspired after reading your story on your page to keep on modelling considering all of the hassles I have had about my height (I am 174cm) and the fact I am slightly curvier than a lot of girls at my old agency (Chadwicks). I LOVE Ilona she is so stunning and I think a fabulous choice for your brand. I would love to model for you one day and would love to meet again and hopefully have a little more time to chat.
Lots of love,
Peta Serras xx
Megan says…
Hi Peta,
Yes I remember you rushing in a bit late and I recall that you told me you were
on a modelling job and that it had run a bit late.
It was a shame you couldn’t get there earlier as it was a great night, but it was still great to meet you!
All the best with your modelling and if I do another event with Carla’s hopefully you can make it to that one a little earlier.
Much love,
Megan x
