Friends

I’m very lucky to be surrounded by loads of fun, talented and inspirational people in my life. And you can get to know a few of them better by following the links below.

Love these guys!

Jez Smith (Photographer)

Jez is not only an amazing photographer but also such a gentle soul, which makes him an absolute pleasure to work with. His outgoing personality ensures our shoots together are always lots of fun. He loves encouraging his subjects to relax and let their true personalities shine through, and I think this is really evident in his work. I adore shooting with him – it’s always an effortless day filled with fun.

Chris Colls (Photographer)

Chris is an extremely talented photographer and I love the way he shoots me. It’s always very raw and once he gets in a zone with me he won’t stop snapping. A shoot with Chris always results in an endless amount of great shots.

One of my most memorable shoots with Chris was the Who’s Sexiest Photo Shoot. He photographed me on a beach in Melbourne on a 10ºC day. I had jumped in the ocean to get all wet for the shot and I was frozen! But together we managed to make it look like I was lying casually on the beach in the middle of summer. Genius!

David Gubert (Photographer)

When I get to choose my own photographer for a shoot, David is high on my wish list. He is efficient, professional and very particular in the way he shoots, which means he always gets great results. His softly spoken, relaxed nature affects me in such a positive way that it really shows in the photos. If you look at my editorials with him for In Style and Women’s Weekly, plus the shoot we did for my Isola campaign, you can see how relaxed and comfortable I am. That’s just how it is with David.

Nick Leary (Photographer)

If you want a sexy and sultry shoot, you book Nick Leary. An ex model himself, Nick understands what it means to be in front of the lens as well as having a true understanding of how it works behind the camera. As a photographer, he is an absolute natural. I love every single photo he has taken of me. My favourite shoot would be the editorial for Australian GQ that we shot on Lake Como in Italy. Poor Nick was sick and jet lagged the whole time but he put on a brave face and powered through – a thorough professional!

Paul Westlake (Photographer)

I have a soft spot for this guy! Being responsible for the majority of the David Jones campaigns, Paul has probably shot more frames of me than anyone else. Cheeky, fun and a tireless worker who never complains, Paul is one of my favourite people to work with. Over the years, we have travelled to many amazing locations together including New Zealand, Spain, China and The Greek Islands, just to name a few. David is also responsible for the fantastic photos from Tahiti, Dublin, Italy and The South of France, which you can see in the Campaign section of the Gallery on this website.

Australian Red Cross

In March 2009, I officially became the first National Ambassador for The Australian Red Cross. It was an honour to be asked to represent such a worthy organisation and humbling to see the vast amount of ways in which The Red Cross helps people in local communities, across Australia and right around the globe.

National Breast Cancer Foundation

I have been a supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation for many years. Through my work with David Jones, my involvement with them has broadened. David Jones is a Diamond Partner with NBCF and also the official stockist of Pink Ribbon merchandise. Annually, we hold a Pink Ribbon day, where people are encouraged to shop at David Jones stores and all profits from the day go to the NBCF. This year, we raised over half a million dollars. Next year, with your help, we hope to donate more!

Conrad Godly

I have only ever had the pleasure of working with Conrad once, but it was one of the most enjoyable photo shoots I’ve done. He was responsible for shooting the Italian GQ editorial where I got to play dress-ups and channel the divine Bettie Page! It was so easy to work with Conrad as he had a very clear, concise idea about how he wanted to shoot me. He was also very respectful of how I was feeling – whether I was comfortable or not – and that made it easier for me to know what to do. Having someone communicate with you so clearly and openly makes the job that much easier.

Alex Perry

Whether you get his biting sense of humour or not; whether you love him or loathe him, you can’t deny that Alex Perry is an absolute genius when it comes to designing women’s fashion. As it so happens, I love him and his crazy sense of humour! I know I can completely trust him, no matter the occasion, to find that one perfect dress that is the absolute right style and shape for me. He not only knows my body well, he understands the female form in all shapes and sizes. His key area is bridal wear, so if you need a wedding dress, you know who to call!

Liz Jones

Liz and I have known each other and worked together for years. When she’s doing my make-up, I feel completely comfortable in her capable hands. I can always count on her to deliver some magic! An absolute professional, and a perfectionist, Liz will go the extra mile to bring out your best features and ensure you’re looking and feeling great. She also creates the best smokey eyes in the southern hemisphere!

Patrizio Di Renzo

Patrizio photographed me for Maxim magazine in Italy and these shots also ended up in the first edition of Men’s Style magazine for
Australia. As it was quite a sexy shoot and I was partially nude for some of it, it was important to have a photographer who was respectful and professional. Patrizio was both these things and more. When you’re doing a shoot like this, if you feel comfortable, you’ll produce great results. Patrizio made me feel totally at ease – he was discreet and understanding. Plus, he is a fantastic photographer!

Andrea Sheehan

I have worked with this gal so many times I couldn’t count them if you asked me to! Now one of my closest friends in the world, Andrea first did make-up back in February 2001. She and I clicked immediately. I loved the look she created and the way in which she worked. She was quick, confident and nothing was ever too much of a problem. Soon, she was accompanying me on endless jobs across Italy and around the world – we’ve certainly had some fun adventures together! Originally from England, Andrea has worked extensively in every area of fashion and is currently based in New York – I miss her dearly!

Noni Smith

Noni is one of the best in the business. She’s always very calm and relaxed, even at the most ungodly hour of the morning! She applies make-up as though she were constructing a delicate and intricate painting and she manages to do so in a very non-invasive and relaxing manner. I’ve worked with her on several shoots, including Who magazine’s ‘Sexiest and Intriguing People’, Sunday Life, and, my favourite shoot with her, Instyle magazine. She’s extremely talented and experienced, and is one of my top ‘go-to’ make-up gals.

Blanka Dudas

Whenever I’m in Melbourne for a shoot or an event, Blanka is top of my list of make-up artists to call. She is not only fantastic at her job, but is a tireless worker who never complains, no matter how gruelling a shoot is. She has a great, positive energy that is contagious, so she’s an absolute dream to have on any job.

Jody Oliver

Jody Oliver is not only one of my favourite make-up artists ever, but she’s also a favourite amongst photographers, editors, clients and stylists. Her incredible make-up talents aside, Jody is just so much fun to work with! She has an infectious outgoing personality, a wicked sense of humour and the ability to inject energy into a long day. This is why I love her! This… and the delightful mini facial she gives before every make-up application!

Renya Xydis

Renya is renowned within the industry for being an absolute hair guru and has trained many of the top hair stylists working in Australia today. With her sweet, caring nature, you can count on Ren make you feel completely nurtured and pampered while she produces phenomenal creations with your hair.

Paddy Puttock

Paddy and I have worked together for years. She first did my hair and make-up for one of my original Italian TV commercials, shot out in Broken Hill, Australia. Apart from being extremely talented and experienced, I adore her for her kind nature, her professionalism and her incredible love of animals – a shared soft spot.
